Policies
Schedule:
-
Private Lessons meet once a week for thirty-minute lessons, year-round.
-
Lessons can be scheduled by signing up HERE and then logging into the "Student Portal," or by contacting Cornerstone Music Studio at info@cornerstonemusicstudio.com.
-
Optional lessons during school break/holidays and will be communicated and decided with Teacher at the beginning of each month.
-
Make sure to mark your calendar/utilize reminders for weekly lesson time.
Make-Up Lessons:
-
If a Student is unable to attend a lesson, the Student must give a 24 hour notice via email/call/text to receive a Make-Up Credit.
-
Make-Up Credits can be used for a Make-Up Lesson (pending instructor availability) or rolled over to the next month’s lesson fee.
-
Absolutely no make-up lessons will be given for no cancellation/call/text/email, no shows except for emergencies such as: illness, car accident, deaths, medical emergencies, etc. Notification as possible is requested. Please contact the studio/instructor directly via email/phone/text.
-
Each student is allotted one (1) Make-Up Lesson/Credit every two (2) months.
-
If the teacher is absent for a class, a Make-Up Lesson/Credit will always be credited and will not count towards the 1 Make-Up Lesson/Credit every 2 months count.
-
Make-Up Lesson must be used within 30 days or the credit will automatically roll over to the next month’s lesson fee.
Student or Teacher Sick:
If the Student or Teacher is sick, the lesson can still take place via Zoom instead of in-person. Email info@cornerstonemusicstudio.com for Zoom Meeting Info. If Student still needs to miss the lesson, follow the Make-Up Lessons policy above.
Late Fee:
If the lesson fee is not paid within 3 days of the due date, a $5 late fee will be automatically charged.
Cancellation:
If a student decides to cancel lessons (whether it be to take off for summer or terminate lessons), a two-week cancellation notice is required in writing/email. This allows the instructor to reassign lesson time to another student. Lesson fee is still owed for the last two weeks, regardless of student’s attendance after cancellation notice given.
Materials:
The Student/Parent is responsible for ordering specific lesson materials as needed (i.e. instrument [piano/keyboard, guitar, violin, ukulele], books, strings, picks, strap, shoulder rest, rosin, music stand, etc.).
Teacher will provide specific recommendations and how to purchase needed items (typically a link to Amazon).
Books should be ordered after the first lesson so that the teacher can give a specific recommendation for the level and needs of the student.
Lesson Fee:
All Private Lessons are $30/per half-hour lesson and are paid monthly.
Lesson Fees are due on the first of each month (i.e. 4 weeks of lessons, $120 is due on the first of the month).
Families will be emailed an invoice a week before the start of each month via the email provided on file.
Payments can be made via cash, check, or card (in person or online).
All card transactions are subject to a service fee.
*By registering for and scheduling lessons, you are agreeing to adhere to the music lesson policies above, as well as the Lesson Expectations.*
